Hosting

So what exactly is "hosting".  For our customers, this means we hold the content that makes up your website.  This can be anything from static files, dynamic content, databases, and even applications.  Once your website is designed, whether it's by AugustWave or elsewhere, you have to have someone host it so the world can view it.  Typically, we host websites we design, but we also do custom hosting, so please contact us to discuss your hosting needs.

Hosting is comprised of having GREAT servers and an EXCELLENT datacenter.  AugustWave has BOTH of these covered.  At AugustWave, we feel it's important for our customer's data and website/email ALWAYS be up.  This is why we take pride in WHAT we put your website on and WHERE we host it.

AugustWave is proud to use only HP Proliant servers.  HP Proliant (formerly Compaq Proliant) servers are by far the best Intel/Windows based servers on the market.  They have a track record second to none when it comes to performance and reliabiltiy.

When it comes to WHERE we put our equipment, we've chosen Peak 10.  Peak 10 is based in Cool Springs (Brentwood, TN) in the old Service Merchandise building.  Their redundant Internet connections, HVAC, and electricity hook-ups (with backup diesel generator) make it ideal for co-location.  Here are some of the other features of this datacenter:

General Facility Features

  • Nashville (Brentwood) data center space – 12,500 square feet
  • AC power
  • Cabinets--half or full available
  • Custom cages
  • 24x7x365 customer access

Environmental Controls/Redundancy

  • Redundant Tier 1 Internet access
  • Geographic diversity / redundancy via other Peak 10 data centers
  • Multiple Liebert cooling systems
  • Dual utility feeds
  • 1750 KW Generator with a 48-hour fuel supply
  • Primary MGE UPS system with isolated redundant backup

Security Features

  • Badge / PIN access
  • Combination lock cabinets
  • 24x7x365 monitored video surveillance

Internet/Access Options

  • The facility has three Sonet rings for communications backbones. If a fiber cut occurs anywhere, the traffic is automatically re-routed.
  • Two diverse fiber paths exiting the building at opposite ends. This protects against outages due to a fiber cut on one circuit.
  • Tier 1 gateways through Level 3 and XO

Facility Equipment

  • The facility equipment consists of high availability multiprocessor HP, Dell and IBM servers.
  • The facility backbone consists of Foundry Gigabit switches, Cisco routers and Fortinet firewalls.
